3M Marine Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 5200

It is a one-part polyurethane fast-curing formula that provides strong bonding strength and high flexibility. It offers excellent adhesion to wood and fiberglass while creating a waterproof seal that withstands harsh weather conditions. Ideal for joints, fittings, and various boat components, both above and below the waterline.

With its high flexibility, the product also helps absorb and distribute stress caused by impact, vibration, expansion, and contraction of materials, effectively reducing potential damage during operation.

🌟 Key Features

✅ Tough and highly flexible polyurethane polymer

✅ Non-shrinking after curing

✅ Moisture-curing formula

✅ Non-sagging

✅ Fast curing

🌟 Directions for Use

Surface Preparation: In marine industrial applications, surfaces are often contaminated with wax, coatings, sealants, grease, oil, and other contaminants. Therefore, all surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned before application to achieve maximum bonding performance.

✅ Sand the surface with 180–220 grit sandpaper to improve adhesion performance

✅ Cut the nozzle tip to the desired bead size

✅ Pierce the inner seal at the nozzle and remove the seal at the bottom of the cartridge

✅ Load the cartridge into a caulking gun

✅ Apply 3M Marine Adhesive/Sealant Fast Cure 5200 onto the joint or desired surface

✅ Position the parts properly

✅ Tool and smooth the sealant to achieve the desired finish

✅ Remove excess sealant with 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984

The sealant should be used within 24 hours after puncturing the inner seal, as the product will begin to cure inside the cartridge and nozzle.

🛑 Additional Recommendations / Precautions

🚨 Not recommended for installing glass, polycarbonate, or acrylic panels without a mechanical fastening system specified by the manufacturer. This is because adhesion on unprimed surfaces may be inconsistent, and thermal expansion or material warping may lead to application failure.

🚨 When used on metal surfaces, a primer may be required to improve adhesion strength and long-term durability.

🚨 3M Scotch-Weld Structural Adhesive Primer EC-1945 B/A can be used as a primer for most metal surfaces.
